Reservoir (2020)
Reservoir is a collection of images compiled in one day in October 2020, with the purpose of providing a kind of test case for ongoing MA works and a desire to work with archival and appropriated images. The images themselves are all gathered from The Commons on Flickr, the selection process was both compulsive and intuitive, however the real making of this work came as they were formed them into four long sequences in two concertina sketch books. The connections and conversations between the images provides a polymorphic perspective on the nature of photography from the perspective of one person, the artist herself.
As a project Reservoir is a well of inspiration, a familiar alter at which photography’s profound strangeness is catalogued. There are around five hundred images in the wider collection, a product of instinct and obsession, its current physical form is singular while the version here online, is unresolved and only meant to be indicative of the idea.
